Several years I work as a system manager in one office. It is a wonderful job. All my colleges are very nice and kind people. We all are very friendly. Every Friday we go to a club and celebrate ending of workweek. Mostly the stuff of the office consists from ladies. There are only several men. Among them is David. He is very gallant and polite young man. He is single and all women in the office like him very much. And mostly because of he can make wonderful compliments. If someone in a bad mood he just says couple of words and everything bad are forgotten. He knows how to make a woman smile.
Not for a long time our boss took a new employee. Her name is Lucy. She is young, inexperienced and trustful lady. Last year she just graduated a college. And she joined our team very fast. As Lucy became one of us David made her compliments too. Every day several times she heard how she is beautiful, how she is gorgeous, how her dress is wonderful and so on. Probably she hasn't used to receive compliments from David as we did and she overreacted a little. She mistakenly decided that David fell in love with her. And she began to make counter-moves. She made him compliments too, followed him everywhere and asked him for a date. It was rather unusual reaction for David. Compliments are usual things he thought and it doesn't mean a great love, but Lucy was of another opinion for some reason. David wanted to stop this situation. He stopped make her compliments and tried to avoid her, but Lucy was vey insistent and she stuck like burr. And one day the lid came off. And with clear text he said that he didn't love her and didn't want to date with her. Lucy was embarrassed and disappointed. After this case for avoiding misunderstanding David stopped to make compliments to all ladies in our office.
